Verdy will present his acclaimed Henry’s Pizza at Patina Maldives, Fari Islands with a pop-up from 3 to 10 January 2025 with a dedicated Henry's Pizza chef serving up island-inspired pizza variations created exclusively for resort guests.

As a lead up to the opening of Patina Osaka, Verdy will take to the decks for an exclusive DJ set – a one-night-only performance – at Patina Maldives on 4 January 2025.
A Conversation with Verdy
How have your extensive travels influenced what you look for in a hotel when you're back in Osaka?
Through my work, I've had the chance to travel abroad and stay at various hotels. Whenever I returned to Osaka, I'd try different hotels, but I always felt there wasn't quite the kind of hotel I was envisioning.
How did you first hear about Patina Osaka?
A friend told me about this amazing hotel brand called Patina coming to Osaka, and coincidentally, it was going to be really close to my pizza shop. While I was getting excited about this news, I was approached by the Patina brand to collaborate, which I was absolutely thrilled to accept.
What is different about this partnership with the Patina brand?
I've had offers from other hotel brands before, but I never really pursued them because they didn't quite align with my story or feel realistic for me. But this time, it's different - having this incredible hotel that I personally admire coming to my hometown of Osaka, and not just for a one-time collaboration, but as a proper partnership opportunity - it really felt right. That's how this working relationship came about.
That sounds exciting! How does it feel to now have a hotel in Osaka that you can confidently recommend?
It really is! Whenever friends from overseas ask me to recommend a good hotel in Osaka, I've never had a great answer, but now I can confidently recommend Patina.
Personally, I prefer staying somewhere slightly away from the city center, so the location is perfect. The area has beautiful cherry blossoms and a park nearby - it's really ideal.
How do you think Patina Osaka will impact the local community?
I think this will energise Osaka's entire community. The fact that the first hotel is opening in Osaka rather than Tokyo - that really gets us Osaka people fired up!!
